'Mini Hay' Festival

We have just completed our 'Mini Hay' festival week. What an amazing time we have had this week! We were lucky enough to have Mini Grey of 'Traction Man' fame visit our school. Mini spent time in our classes talking about her books. In Huskies class, Mini taught us how to draw a 'Space Dog' character from the book of the same name. She also answered a lot of questions we had about life as an author. It was fantastic. The pictures below show Mini talking to us about the book.

Summer 2

This half term we are continuing our theme of 'Our Wonderful World'. We will also be looking at great artists throughout history and using their work as inspiration for our own artwork as well as taking inspiration from the world around us.

Summer 1

We cannot believe it is the Summer Term.

Our topic this half term is 'Our Wonderful World'. We are learning about river systems, the Water Cycle, earthquakes and much more.

Wow! Our Easter Enterprise event was certainly busy. Many thanks go to all those parents who supported Huskies class.

Spring 2

This half term's main focus is on our production based on the story 'Jungle book'. We are practising hard to learn our lines and the songs we have chosen to go with the play. We hope to have some photos for you later. We will also be learning more about sound and light in our topic'Thunder and Lightning'.

Spring 1

In the first half of Spring term our topic was 'The Egyptians'.

We had a great 'Learning Together' day when we made Eygptian collars and Scarab beetle necklaces.

Autumn 2
We are looking at chocolate at the moment for our current topic. We are researching where it comes from and how it is made.  To support our topic we are using Charlie and the Chocolate Factory for story writing.
We had an interesting visitor to our school this week, when we learned more about where chocolate comes from, how we get lovely silky smooth chocolate and how to make our chocolate shapes using moulds! It was great! We also got to try some!
Autumn 1

The topic for this half term is 'Our Incredible Bodies'. We are looking at the digestive system and what our bodies need to stay healthy. We will be investigating how our stomachs work by using bread, orange juice and a plastic bag!

In Literacy work will use texts such as 'Traction Man' by Mini Grey and other 'superhero' stories to ignite our imagination.
