St. Andrew's - Our Church School

Collective Worship is pivotal to the life of the school and as such. It encompasses all that we do and supports the outworking of our school vision. We believe Worship is also a vehicle for supporting our school’s aims in the vision of Church of England school communities:

Educating for wisdom, knowledge and skills: enabling discipline, confidence and delight in seeking wisdom and knowledge, and developing talents in all areas of life.
Educating for hope and aspiration: enabling healing, repair and renewal, coping wisely when things go wrong, opening horizons and guiding people into ways of fulfilling them.
Educating for community and living well together: a core focus on relationships, participation in communities and the qualities of character that enable people to flourish together.
Educating for dignity and respect: the basic principle of respect for the value and preciousness of each person, treating each person as a unique individual of inherent worth.

The Right of Withdrawal:

The parents’ legal right to withdraw their child from acts of worship is clear. If there are any children whose parents exercise their right to withdraw them from worship, alternative activities will be provided in consultation with the children’s parents. This does not mean that the children will be in any way exempt from the Christian ethos of the school, which underpins the whole of school life. Parents are made fully aware of this when they enrol their children.

Reflections Area

St. Andrew's Church, Halstead Our school is part of the extended church family in Halstead. Reverend Katie and other members of the ministry team come into school to lead our school community in Collective Worship and we visit St. Andrew's Church for services throughout the year.
