Adventurous Residential Trips
St. Andrew's offers a one week residential trip at the beginning of year 6. We decided this in consultation with our KS2 parents. These trips are highly beneficial for our pupils; they reinforce so many of our learning behaviours, preparing our pupils to take responsibility and develop their next steps towards life at high school. The plan is to gel the group with numerous team building activities, and develop strong relationships with each other and with staff who will be teaching them in Year 6. The nature of the demanding activities can not be provided in school, but challenge children's physical and mental skills in a different setting. Such experiences are often encountered for the very first time. Children show great determination and resilience, growing as an individual during the week. This years pupils returned from a great week on the 12th September. Their fantastic behaviour was praised by centre staff at Caythorpe Court. We made this years visit accessible to two pupils with SEN Statements linked to physical needs; it really was a special experience for all!
