'Super Scientists and Ingenious inventions’ is our topic for this term. Honey Bees can look forward to exciting stories, design and technology projects and problem-solving.

PIRATES AHOY!

Honey Bees Spring 2

 Honeybees Class were very excited to find out about their new topic 'Pirates Ahoy!' Treasure maps, pirate masks, ship building and treasure chests will feature quite a lot in the next few weeks! 

The topic will also include some important geographical skills:

• Name and locate the world’s continents and oceans.
• Understand geographical similarities and differences through studying the human and physical geography of a small area of the United Kingdom and of a contrasting non-European country.
• Use aerial images and plan perspectives to recognise landmarks and basic physical features.
• Devise a simple map; and use and construct basic symbols in a key. Use simple grid references.

Spring 1  Robots

This term we are so excited about our project on robots. We are looking forward to making robots and programming robots when we take part in workshops in February. 

Currently we are watching scenes from the film 'Robots' and basing our writing around the film.

AUTUMN 2 

HONEYBEES

Year 2 have started this term brilliantly. We had a great afternoon with parents playing maths games as part of 'Learning Together'. Some were so popular we will be setting up a signing out system for taking some of these games home.

 Honey Bee Class are buzzing with enthusiasm....

Bee Keeper Visit

We were lucky to have a bee keeper come and visit us last week. We were able to find out a great deal and hold interesting objects such as honeycomb as well as try on a bee-keepers hat!
