Welcome to Year 5 Doves' Class Page!
The children have settled back in beautifully after our October half term and are already showing great enthusiasm for our new topic, 'Earthquakes and Eruptions'! Our curriculum newsletter highlighting what we will be learning this half term will shortly be uploaded at the bottom of this page. We're looking forward to seeing you at Share Afternoon next Tuesday and our first Learning Together of the year on Thursday!

This week has heralded the launch of our 'Earthquakes and Eruptions' Topic for this half term and the children are already showing great enthusiasm! Today, we took part in a 'vertical' relay race, which challenged us to show what we already know and understand about earthquakes and volcanoes. The more key concepts, terms, explanations and connections we were able to add, drawing upon our prior knowledge, the more points we earned for our team!
I have a lot of calculating to do this weekend to work out the winning team but I have to say, we were mightily impressed by all the discussion about seismic activity and tectonic plates before our Topic has even begun! We've got some exciting challenges to look forward to! Great collaborative work, Doves - you well and truly earned those two class stars!
