NATIONAL FINALS ONCE MORE!

Congratulations to our 7 intrepid orienteers, Amy, Daisy, Lucy, Ben, Jamie, Oliver and Tom, who played a crucial role in the success of Stragglers Orienteering Society in the regional round of the Yvette Baker Trophy.   The Essex club claimed joint first place to qualify for the national finals of this premier inter-club competition for juniors.

Lucy and Oliver were the first girl and boy home on the challenging yellow course, each earning the maximum 100 points for the club.  There were also great scores from Jamie in his first competitive solo run (93 points), Tom (97 points) and Amy and Daisy (96 points) as they raced confidently against older runners.  St. Andrew’s orienteers will now have the opportunity to compete in their third national final of the year at Nottingham University on 5th July.

Thank you to all St. Andrew’s participants and their parents for making the long journey to Epping to represent their school and club during the school holidays.  Many congratulations!
