HOUSE CROSS COUNTRY

On Wednesday, 22nd October a rainbow ribbon of colour wound its way to the fields as 60 children jogged to Star Stile for the annual inter-house competition.  Everyone in Years 5 and 6 had been training hard in their P.E. lessons to build up their stamina.  The 1500m route took the runners ... round the edge of the enormous triangular field ... down the steep drop ...along by the stream ... up and down and up again over the rollercoaster path ... and into the home straight!  It was lovely to welcome back Mr Swallow who did a brilliant job photographing the event. Thank you to all the marshalls and adult runners – Mo, Miks, Amy Bryant, Mrs Bryant, Mrs Challis, Mrs Harris, Mrs Ingleby, Mrs Martin, Mr Partridge, Mrs Pilgrim, Mrs Root, Mrs Skeet and Mrs Toms. Back at school the results were collated and, accompanied by a loud cheer, the Water Sports Captains India Hook, Zac Poter and Jack Renshaw held the House Cross Country Trophy aloft. Many, many congratulations to all the children on their fantastic fitness levels and a brilliant afternoon of sport and sporting behaviour. Have a look in the House pages of the website for some great sporting snaps.
